Principle based psychology in business

I just sent an email to someone that included the sentence “I believe that you are at an exciting stage in your life – with your new understanding of the ‘inside-out’ nature of reality.”

I know some people, who have not experienced the benefits of understanding how the mind works, might question my use of the phrase “exciting stage in your life”.  However, I found that my understanding of the ‘Three Principles’, from which we experience life, has increased my levels of productivity and well-being beyond anything I could have imagined.

Most of us, whether in a business context or not, are just scratching the surface of the potential of the mind.  Understanding the principles behind the experience of life, helps people wake up to their own potential – and to have greater access to that potential.

An embodied understanding of the ‘inside-out’ nature of reality gives a person, or company, a brand new operating platform: an incredible foundation for personal and business growth.

If a person is in ‘stressful states of mind’, he or she will not perform as well as if they are in a calm, focused, relaxed state of mind.

People’s mental clarity and well-being is the key performance variable.

This has been known for decades in the field of sport; there is a recognized connection between state of mind and performance.

I always suggest that, before you go trying to assess how to solve a problem, resolve an issue, or even look at what someone else’s state of mind may be, you first need to assess your own state of mind.  The best way to do that is to deepen your understanding of the three principles from which our experience grows.

In addition to this I look at my clients goals, the challenges that they are facing, and opportunities they might be missing.  We also uncover any hidden problems that may be sabotaging their desired results.

Once the next creative steps become obvious, we create an action plan and implement it together; so that a person finally gets the results they have been looking for, but were unable to find.  Also, we address any challenges that come up along the way.

When people tap into a greater potential in their mind they are able to think with greater clarity – they are able access a deeper level of inspiration and creativity.  Very simply, as the quality of their thinking and decision-making improves, so does their quality of life.

Understanding how we create our state of mind, and learning ‘state of mind’ principles, is a truly effective way of increasing productivity and allowing a business to grow.

People procrastinate because they can be hyperactive, frantic or anxious.  The objective is to calm them down so they have their wits about them but they still have a sense of urgency (while they do not get preoccupied and caught up in their own thoughts).

A company culture is a collection of behaviours.  Those behaviours come from ‘thought‘.  Even the work-life balance of the people working in a business comes down to the ‘thought’ of the leaders, and the employees’ ‘thought’.

With an understanding of the three principles that effect state of mind, productivity goes up.  This is because a person can just focus on the moment and apply this focus with their work, family and home life.  It allows change, on a very large level, to happen very quickly.

It is not about teaching skills because it shows people how to raise their overall level of mental power, clarity, well-being and emotional resilience.  When working in business, you see changes across the board.

The Society for Organizational Learning (Sol) highlighted these benefits:

  • Reduced absenteeism
  • Increased profit
  • Better teamwork
  • Quicker working time
  • Better interpersonal relationships
  • Elevated mood and spirits
  • Reduced stress
  • Increased confidence
  • Enhanced wellbeing
  • Strategies formed in one fifth of the time using fewer resources
  • Project durations were shorter by as much as 80%

If we have the insight to pull out of the hectic pace that we are in, and we pull away enough to get some clarity, we can actually experience something more powerful than most of us even realise is possible.
